    Over the past few days, some of our users have encountered a known error message with the usac audio codec. This issue occurs due to a number of factors. We will review them now.

    Unified Speech and Audio Coding (USAC) is an audio compression format and therefore a codec for music and spoken language, or any combination of speech and audio, at very low bitrates of interest between 12 kbps and 64 kbps.< sup > [1 ] Developed by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) and published as an excellent international standard, ISO/IEC 23003-3 (aka MPEG-D Part 3) [2], and also as fantastic MPEG-4 audio object type in ISO/IEC 14496-3:2009/Amd 3 in 2012.[3]

    This requires Linear Time Domain Prediction and Residual Encoders (ACELP type for methods), Voice Sections and Transform Coding Tools (MDCT based methods) for music cue segments, and subsequent elements can dynamically switch between sets instruments in a specific cue-sensitive way. It is designed with the goal of developing a single good encoder with performance that matches or exceeds that of specialized voice programmers and music encoders over a wide range of bitrates.     Extended HE-AAC

    The USAC MPEG-D Reference (ISO/IEC 23003-3) defines an extended high performance profile, aac, which includes all the tools of the HE-AAC v2 profile as well as the mono/stereo functions of the USAC Baseline standard. Profile. Accordingly, a decoder built for the general Extended High AAC performance profile, as already mentioned, is also capable of decoding bitstreams built for these earlier AAC family profiles. The Extended High Efficiency AAC profile is specifically designed for applications that require high performance at low bit rates, and the ability to decode all AAC-LC, HE-AAC and HE-AACv2 content. [6]

    XHE-AAS

    Fraunhofer offers you the xHE-AAC codec defined in terms of the combination of the AAC Extended High Efficiency Profile and the corresponding parts of the MPEG-D-DRC Volume Control Profile or Dynamic Range Control Profile. [7] xHE-AAC extendscodec coverage up to 12301 kbps for stereo signals combined with smooth switching between bit rates. (using standards such as MPEG-DASH over HLS). xHE-AAC also includes the obligatory MPEG-D DRC volume control to help reproduce constant-width content and provides new working dynamic range profiles for listening in certain noisy situations. [ 8]

    While xHE-AAC decoders are designed to decode bitstreams intended for the previous family of AAC profiles, xHE-AAC encoders are typically used to select the MPEG-D-USAC Audio Object Model (AOT 42 ) that comes with MPEG-D – DRC, although some may support older media AAC object types.[7]

    xHE-AAC is also a mandatory audio codec in the Digital Radio Mondiale[9][10][11] standard, while registered trademark of Fraunhofer.[7]

    In April 2016, Via Licensing announced the launch of the xHE-AAC Patent Group Certification Program for 2016.[12] #1 added an addendumcosts.[8][13]

    In January 2021, Fraunhofer announced a professional testing service and proprietary xHE-AAC software, and revealed that each codec is used by Netflix.[14][ 15] Netflix reported that users typically switched from speakers to headphones 16% less frequently (due to poor sound quality or unnecessary volume) on high dynamic range posts when using xHE-AAC instead of HE-AAC. Netflix also stated that xHE-AAC allows them to stream to Android devices with flexible audio bitrates.[16] Fraunhofer also announced the licensing of xHE-AAC to Poikosoft,[18 ] main concept ,[17] and LG.[19] xHE-AAC copied from Bento4 DASH/HLS Packager.[20] January 2022 , MainConcept, an encryption service built for xHE-AAC testing websites.
